In other news, Hampton Coffee Company has announced that their prices will stay the same even as the Starbucks Corporation, which operates more than 8,000 stores including three in the Hamptons, just increased its average price per cup by 11 cents to cover the higher cost of ingredients, according to a New York Times article published September 29.

"Our coffee, espresso drinks, and baked goods prices have never gone up since Hampton Coffee Company first opened more than 10 years ago," said company CEO and co-owner Jason Belkin. "It's amazing that our small, community-oriented business can keep prices in check while a huge corporation like Starbucks needs to raise its prices every few years just to make even more profits at the expense of their customers' pocketbooks." Hampton Coffee Company President and co-owner Pepe Martinez added that, "Sure, we make less profits when our supplies cost more, but we wouldn't take it out on our loyal customers like Starbucks did."
